C.E.N. Review Course
This 14-hour videoconference broadcast will provide a review of selected topics which can help prepare experienced E.D. nurses for the Emergency Nursing Certification Exam. This course is intended for the E.D. nurse who already has a strong knowledge base of emergency nursing. Content will include emergencies involving the cardiovascular, pulmonary, GI, renal, metabolic, neurological, hematologic, EENT, and musculoskeletal systems. Behavioral as well as OB/GYN emergencies will also be addressed. Sample test questions will be utilized throughout the course. This course does not guarantee that participants will pass the certification exam. Individual participants are highly encouraged to take the time to study and gain mastery of the topics.
Learning Objective
Upon completion of this program, each participant will be able to:
- Describe the components of focused assessment required in the care of patients in the emergency department.
- Re-order the priority of patient care based on changes in assessment data.
- Plan for appropriate care when presented with assessment data from multiple patients simultaneously.
- Summarize the rational behind all nursing interventions performed on patients who present with various types of physical and psychological emergencies.
- Discuss the current accepted standards for the transfer and transport of emergency patients.
Target Audience
RNs currently working in Emergency Departments and are planning to take the Certification Exam for Emergency Nursing.
