PHTLS Provider Course
The
PHTLS Program is designed to enhance and increase knowledge and skills in delivering critical care in the pre-hospital environment.
The quality of trauma care has been shown to improve mortality and morbidity.
The
PHTLS course was developed, updated and revised by the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) and the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma, who keeps current with the advances in the field.
This “core” provider course combines critical thinking skills, knowledge and skills for pre-hospital assessment and care of the trauma patient.
Teaching stations include:
- Identify the mechanism of injury
- Recognize life threatening injuries
- Relate pathophysiology to injuries
- Assess and manage trauma patients
- Perform appropriate interventions
Skills station include
- Airway Management & Ventilation
- Assessment and Management
- Rapid Extraction
- Spinal Mobilization
- Pediatric Assessment and Immobilization
- Evacuation Scenarios

EMT, as part of an EMT course, EMT-P, Nurses, Physicians
